ENERGY,
NUMBERS, NUMEROLOGY AND SEPTEMBER 11, 2001:
Many of my clients
have called over the past week to inquire about my opinion
regarding the catastrophic events that occurred on September
11, 2001. Even though most of us are over-saturated with commentary
on this subject, there were so many aspects of it that related
to numbers that I felt impelled to offer the following perspective.
Energy
and Numbers:
Pythagoras (the
great Greek mathematician, philosopher and "father of numerology
in the western world") is credited with stating that "all
things in the universe can be reduced to a number." I believe
that most modern-day scientists would agree with that premise.
Keeping that in mind, it is my understanding that another
premise that is accepted universally in the scientific world
is that all living things and matter (including human beings)
are essentially comprised of different forms of energy. We
all have atoms, protons, and neutrons within our composition.
Even our thoughts are a form of energy, and our thoughts can
be transmitted beyond our physical selves (prayer being a
good example of that).
Judging from the
innumerable validations I have received of the interpretations
of numbers that comprise numerological charts, and after witnessing
other amazing and mind-boggling "coincidences" that involve
numbers, I offer that numbers are also a definitive form of
energy. It has been my observation that each individual resonates
to certain numbers, and that we humans, as a whole, can be
affected by numbers and dates that are seemingly extraneous
to us as individuals. I could write much more about this theory
and it may be a topic of one of my future lectures, but for
this piece, suffice it to say that I believe as Einstein did,
that "something's moving," and that is, in my humble opinion,
the energy that is in all things, including numbers and the
letters of the alphabets.
Numerology:
As you will read
below, the number 11 (which, on the positive side, stands
for heightened spirituality and humanitarianism) and the number
5 (which, on the positive side, stands for freedom, progression,
and positive change) were numbers that played significantly
in the outrageous acts perpetrated on The World Trade Center
and the Pentagon.
As we're all aware
by now, The World Trade Center tragedy took place on September
11, 2001. That date reduces to a 5 (9 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 0 + 0
+ 1 = 14 and 1 + 4 = 5). Both the 11 (the number of that day)
and the 5 have played significant roles on the American scene
throughout history.
The most significant
number in a numerology chart is the "destiny" number. It denotes
the tenor or purpose of a person or entity, or day, as it
were. It is found by adding all the numbers of a person's
birth date, or ANY date for that matter, and reducing it to
a single digit. America's destiny number would be calculated
as follows: July 4, 1776 = 7 + 4 + 1 + 7 + 7 + 6 = 32 and
3 + 2 = 5. The number 5 is America's destiny number. It is,
therefore, ironic that the 5 is also the destiny number of
September 11, 2001.
The Numbers Five
and Eleven:
On the positive
side, 5 is the number of the freedom fighter, positive change,
progression and adaptation. I think most people would agree
that America personifies those qualities. When the negative
aspects of this number prevail, however, its vibration produces
suppression of freedom, reticence to experience the new and
different, and fear of change. The latter could certainly
seem to apply to a conservative or fanatical religious terrorist
regime.
Coincidently,
the number of Flight 77 that crashed into The Pentagon reduces
to a 14/5 (7 + 7 = 14 and 1 + 4 = 5). The number 14, in particular,
portends tragedy through explosion and fire. Flight 77 had
65 people on board, a number which reduces to an 11.
There were many
more ironies with respect to the number 11 in this unfortunate
occurrence. Some of you may have received the chain e-mail
that offered the following:
The date of the
attack: 9/11 - 9+1+1 = 11
September 11th is the 254th day of the year. 2+5+4 = 11
There are 111 days left to the end of the year.
119 is the area code for Iraq/Iran. 1+1+9 = 11
Twin Towers - standing side by side, look like the number
11.
The first plane to hit the towers was Flight 11.
New York was the 11th state added to the Union.
New York City has 11 letters.
Afghanistan has 11 letters.
The Pentagon has 11 letters.
Ramzi Yousef has 11 letters (convicted of orchestrating the
attack on the WTC in 1993).
Flight 11 had 92 people on board, 9+2 = 11
Flight 77 had 65 people on board, 6+5 = 11.
I can add a few
other particulars that don't necessarily relate to numerology:
The time Flight
11 crashed into the first tower was 8:48 a.m. (8 + 4 = 12
and 1 + 2 + 8 = 11).
911 is America's national number for emergencies (9+1+1 =
11).
Each tower had 110 floors (eliminate the zero and you have
an 11).
Also, interestingly although unrelated to this incident, WW
I ended in the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.

About Numerology:
The science of
numerology applies numbers to each letter of the alphabet
and the numbers associated with the following words reduce
to 11: President, light, messiah, wisdom, force, prayer, healing,
energy, immortal, heavenly, winner, and enduring. Of course,
there are many other words that reduce to an 11, but these
words, in particular, have to do with the vibration of the
11. Adversely, the words fire and explosives also reduce to
11.
The 11 is the
number of peacemaking, team-playing, cooperation, inner growth
and illumination, spiritual orientation and awareness, and
humanitarianism. Interestingly, to date, 11 presidents of
the United States have been either born on the 11th or 29th
(2 + 9 = 11), or their birth dates reduced to the number 11.
Secretary of State Colin Powell and General Norman Schwarzkopf
also have 11 destinies.
The negative side
of the 11 produces fanaticism, zealousness, transgression,
and intimidation. Many of the powerful leaders of the Nazi
regime were born on 11 days or had 11 destinies or their names
that reduced to the number 11, including Hitler and Mussolini
[the latter was born on 7/29 (2 + 9 = 11) in 1883 (7 + 2 +
9 + 1 + 8 + 8 + 3 = 38 and 3 + 8 = 11)]. Hitler's birth date
reduced to number 5 and he was born on the 20th (the lower
vibration of the 11), and his name Adolph Hitler was an 11
when specific numbers were applied to each letter and added
together.
Other names associated
with this horrific event that vibrate to the number 11 are
The World Trade Center, Pentagon, Washington, D.C., and, resonating
to the highest vibration of this symbol, Jesus and Christianity.
Conversely, and incredibly, the name Osama bin Laden also
reduces to the number 11!
As one of my reference
books offers, the 11 is known as the Psychic Master - a messenger
of God and creates masters among men. Under the 11, man can
attain great heights, be master of all. The high side of the
11 is not associated with the material aspects of life but
rather spirituality and humanitarianism. The 11th card in
the Tarot is Strength. Its message is that of courage and
spiritual power. It was written that a fall from 11-ness is
long and hard . . . and brings poverty and discord.
In Masonic terms,
the 11 represents Equilibrium. "The cross has been used extensively
in sacred symbology both before and after its adoption as
the emblem of Christian religion. One of its arms is upright,
the other horizontal. This is another representation of the
fallen pole, the feminine or Eve principle in man [the patriarchal
biblical viewpoint]. When this principle is lifted and brought
into perfect balance with the masculine force, the cross of
struggle, sorrow and sacrifice will yield as a symbol of man's
religious aspirations into two upright columns (11) as the
symbol of attainment. It will mark the redemption of the fallen,
the cessation of strife, and the realization of at-one-ment
with the divine." The ancient wisdom defines the powers of
11 as follows: "In my grasp are all things held in perfect
equilibrium; I bind all opposites together, each to its complement."
Corinne Heline in Sacred Science of Numbers.
The 11 is said
to embrace the opposites in both heaven and hell. Another
interesting quote from Heline's book is, "The two upright
columns before the entrance of every Mystery Temple, the Masonic
included, are synonyms of the power and purpose of 11. The
colors of 11 are black and white, signifying latent and active
truth, and truth that is hidden and must be revealed. The
color violet is also associated with the 11 and signifies
the illumination which the spirit gains through sorrow."
In Cheiro's Book
of Numbers he writes: "The 11 is an ominous number. It
gives warning of hidden dangers, trial and treachery from
others. It has the symbol of 'a clinched hand' and 'a lion
muzzled,' and of a person who will have great difficulties
to contend with in their future." (There is the dark path
and the light path associated with all numbers, according
to the tenets of numerology.)
The 11th sign
of the Zodiac is Aquarius, the sign of progressive science,
experimentation, originality, independence, humanitarianism,
politics, electricity, telecommunications. Many astrology
books offer that the sign of Aquarius is ruled by Uranus,
the influence that effects the unexpected, unique and unusual
aspects of life. This time in our history is called the Aquarian
Age by those involved in metaphysics.
From Sacred
Symbols of the Ancients, by Florence Campbell, the following
is written about the number 11. "There are many superstitions
connected with the number 11. By some it was called the Number
of Evil because it transcended the number of the commandments
and did not attain 12, the number of 'Grace and Perfection.'
History and experience refute the stigma, and we have come
to regard 11, as a number, as one of the most priceless gifts
of the gods. Eleven is the direct recipient of inspiration
from the One Source: the preacher, the messenger, the Light-bearer
from On High. Eleven is the number of the Path on the tree
of Life that is assigned to Aleph, the first Tarot Card, the
Magician, in the direct line from Kether to Chokmah, or Will
to Wisdom. It is the 'spirit' of air - the 'Divine Breath.'"
One
Last Personal Comment:
Because the 11
is a Master Number in numerology (meaning it resonates to
a higher vibration and therefore wields greater influence
over humans and life in general), I would conjecture that
if any good were to come of this situation it may be that
Americans, at the very least, would begin to have a greater
cognizance and appreciation for our Country and our freedom,
and an escalated sense of, and connection with, their spiritual
consciousness.
For
Your Reflection:
The following
are taken from Excerpts from The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam
Explained by Paramhansa Yogananda:
"Every thought
we think is a flower of life's garden, and not the permanent
possession of anyone. Let our thoughts, then, be fragrant
and beautiful, not rank and ugly, that the memory we leave
behind us be felt as a blessing on the earth."
"The more we live
guided from within, the greater our control over outer events
in the great game of life. For when we live at our own center,
in superconsciousness, we live in the only true freedom there
is."
"He who made us
must surely also love us. His reason for ordaining death as
the final act of life must, therefore, be somehow connected
with His love."
"God feels no
anger, no matter how many times we err. He is the Fountainhead
of limitless, unconditional love."
"Life could have
been so beautiful, had mankind only lived as God intended.
Instead, human life has become a jumble box to hold the pieces
of a mad jigsaw puzzle - a confusing assortment of evil and
good, sorrow and joy, death and life."
